Aug 23 2016PITCHING PRIORITIES
There was a feeling of relief early Tuesday morning as Carlos Carrasco was great in pitching the Indians past Oakland 1-0. Carrasco went eight innings with nine strikeouts and no walks. That means the Tribe may have CC back on track, and that gives them well...two...reliable pitchers. It's been a struggle after Corey Kluber. Trevor Bauer is wildly inconsistent. Danny Salazar (going Tuesday) has gone three innings total in two starts. Josh Tomlin is bad. You simply can't send Tomlin out against a power-laden team. He's allowed 32 (!?) homeruns, can't throw over 85, and has lost four in a row. Look at the possible playoff opponents: Boston, Toronto, Baltimore, Texas, Seattle. All power teams, yikes! BTW Tomlin faces the Rangers in Arlington Thursday (uh-oh).
