Jul 24 2014THE GORDON EFFECT
There has been an air of mystery about Browns' star wide receiver Josh Gordon. We know he's facing suspension, but that's about it, due to the NFL's respect of a player's privacy when it comes to drug use. Now it's reported that Gordon faces a 1-year suspension beginning August 1, but he will appeal in New York next week. The Browns were hoping for just a half-season, for a good reason. Without Gordon, this could be the worst offensive team in the league. Consider: Gordon led the NFL last season with 1646 receiving yards, including back-to-back 200 yard games, a new league record. This was while missing two games, being covered like a blanket, and being thrown to by the likes of QBs Hoyer-Weeden-Campbell. He cannot be replaced. A 1-year suspension is baaaaad news for the local team.
