Distracted Driving Law

It’s been 1 year since Ohio’s Distracted Driving Law took effect, and the new law appears to be working. The Ohio State Highway Patrol considers distracted driving to be texting, checking social media, or watching videos while behind the wheel. The state patrol says there has been about a 12% drop in crashes and a 19% drop in fatalities in the 12 months since distracted driving became a primary offense. Violating the new law costs $150 dollars and 2 points on your drivers license. The fine then increases for repeat offenders.
