Cooler weather and shorter days mean more deer are now gracing Ohio’s roadways. The number of deer-vehicle collisions peaks in November and December. Since 2018, there have been more than 104,000 deer related crashes in Ohio, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says there are about 1 million car accidents with deer each year, that kills 200 Americans, causes more than 10 thousand personal injuries, and results in $1 billion in vehicle damage.
