A fire broke out yesterday at the Fieldhouse of Ellet Community Learning Center. According to a press release from Akron Public Schools, the fire started in a weight room outside of the Fieldhouse and quickly spread to the structure, including locker rooms and equipment storage. The Fieldhouse is a separate detached building and is not connected to the main school building. Fire crews from the Akron Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the blaze. School officials say no students were in the building during the fire. There were no injuries. The damage caused to the structure is considered significant.
