Akron Superintendent placed on leave

The Akron Public Schools Board of Education voted yesterday, in a special meeting, to place the superintendent on paid administrative leave following an investigation into allegations of bullying and intimidation. This follows a months long investigation into Dr. Michael Robinson. Among the accusations against Robinson that came to light were union busting, violating public records laws by sending emails that then disappear, calling female reporters a derogatory name and bullying. According to the board, 16 former and current district employees were interviewed following the allegations. The board immediately launched an internal investigation into the allegations, with the decision to place Robinson on leave following that. The board says Dr. Robinson broke the code of conduct, with a final decision on his full employment coming April 28th. Long-time school board member, Mary Outley will serve as interim superintendent.
