Do the Guardians have what it takes to finally break the longest drought in baseball and win a World Series for the City of Cleveland??? I want to be hopeful that it could be a possibility, but I’m not so sure. They have been hanging around the best record in baseball throughout the season, but they have had many ups and downs. Can they avoid another big hitting slump that put them into their longest losing streak of the season? Can the starting pitchers get through 5 or 6 innings so the team won’t wear out the bullpen? Will the rookie manager be able to make the right decisions under extreme playoff pressure??? Will the lineup and the pitching staff be able to avoid the injuries that have plagued this team all season??? So many questions and not many answers until the playoffs begin. If they want to get off to a good start, win the division, finish with one of the top 2 records in the American League and get a bye until after the wild card round. That won’t solve all their problems, but it will get them a step closer to their ultimate goal, without having to play a game. Let’s keep the faith and hope we don’t have another playoff flame out like we have seen the last couple of playoff appearances. They haven’t made it past the divisional round since 2016. This may be the year they go farther.
